Type: Error

What It Checks: Compares each salary master’s “download step” (the pay step used to calculate/download the rate) against the highest step number that actually exists on that employee’s assigned salary grid (using the grid’s most recent effective date on or before the fiscal year end). Flags any record whose download step number is higher than the grid actually supports.

What Causes It: An employee’s download step was manually advanced (e.g., an anniversary step increase) past the top of their grid, or the grid was replaced with a shorter one (fewer steps) after the employee was already assigned a high step number.
