IMP.net is a three tier application that can run under different configurations. These configurations are listed below
SQL Server will be installed on server #1. The IMP.net windows services (listed above) will be installed on server #2. Both servers should be on the same LAN for performance reasons. The client computers will only need access to server #2. This is important for sites that need to manage their firewall rules. You can see a diagram for this configuration here.
This is the WSI recommended configuration for security and performance.
Note: The database can be placed on a shared SQL Server environment.
SQL Server will be installed on the same server as the IMP.net windows services (listed above). This option will be more useful for smaller sites with limited resources.

For sites with BUDMAN installed, you can run BUDMAN on the same server as the Windows Services or on a separate server. BUDMAN will need access to the SQL Server database in order to draw data. ESM.net services will draw from the BUDMAN DBISAM database through ODBC.

• 300+ GB hard disk space (recommended for larger sites)
• High performance disk drives (ex: 7,200 RPM or higher)
Note: For best database performance, fast hard drives are recommended.
