When two or more trees are typically used in a report all possible node combinations are generated for the final output structure. The Super Tree module allows for explicit definition of these combinations, providing the ability to separate accounts above and below the line, even across multiple entities.

Refresh |
Refreshes the data loaded on the screen. |

Regenerates the defined tree node combinations. Will only be available after ‘Show’ has been selected for a tree. |

Delete Tree Relationship |
Deletes the currently selected tree, but only if all links have been deleted. |
Tree Relationships

Code/Description |
Lists the parent and child trees used in the combination. |

Parent Type |
Type of tree used as the parent. The parent will be the primary tree for the super tree. |

Child Type |
Type of tree used as the child. Must be different than the parent. |

Trees Band |
Used to select the trees once parent/child has been defined. |

Link Info |
Number of defined data links. |
|
Tree IDs |
Displays the raw ID number of the underlying reporting groups. |
B: Manage Tree Links

Manage tree links is used to define the account combinations between the parent and child tree. The parent tree is always displayed on the left, child on the right. Nodes can be defined at any level of the tree; expand the tree lines to see lower levels. Columns displayed will differ based on selected tree types.

Add Link |
A link will be created between the currently selected parent node and current selected child node. This link will be defined for the nodes and any lines within the nodes’ hierarchies. |

Delete Link |
Will delete the currently selected line in the ‘Links’ grid. |
|
Delete All Links |
Wipes the ‘Links’ grid. |
B: Tree Combinations

Populates after ‘Generate Combinations’ has been selected from the ‘Build Super Tree’ tab. Lists all generated links. A properly designed tree should never have a Count value higher than 1 for any given line.

Reload Data |
Reloads the data currently in the grid.

Refresh Lookups |
Refreshes lookup data. |

Custom Filter |
There is a custom filter panel available at the bottom of the screen to help with data filtering for review.

C: Unused Combinations


This is used to find any potential missed combinations. Upon pressing ‘Find Unused Combinations’ a list of potential account matches are displayed. Anything listed in this tab will not show up on reports or cubes using the Super Trees. You will need to correct the links in the ‘B: Manage Tree Links’ tab.
