IMP.net – Auto Update Service

IMP.net uses Microsoft’s ClickOnce technology to perform auto-updates.  In order for this to work properly, IIS will need to be configured on the same server as the IMP.net windows services.

Server Setup

  1. WSI support will supply a directory called wsi_esm_client.  This folder will contain the necessary files for IIS.  This location will be accessed by the clients in order to initially install the client AND to perform auto-updates.
  2. In a typical installation, please copy the wsi_esm_client folder to: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wsi_esm_client. Then, from IIS, please right click on that folder and Convert to Application.

Client Setup

Once the server has been set up correctly, you will need to give the URL for the installation path to your users.  If set up in the way described above, it should be something like: http://<your_server_name>/wsi_esm_client/

For more information, please click on Installing the Client.

Note: If the users install from this location, their client will automatically check for newer versions whenever the application is launched.  If changes are available, the latest client will be downloaded via this URL.
